Technology and wolves
Technology and wolves
This is just a thought i have been pondering knowing that the wolves will get to my back yard soon. With todays hi technology of sensors and chemicals etc etc. Why wouldnt it be possible for someone to develop a collar for dogs that was filled with pepper spray and loud low percussion explosives? Put some sensors on it based on how hard a wolf bites down (i would think it would be alot harder than most other critters would bite) so that in a last ditch effort of saving a dogs life it would go off making lots of noise and spraying a good shot off pepper spray. I know the dog would be affected too but it may be enough to run a wolf off????? Anybody have any thoughts or ideas on something along these lines to add?...... I wouldnt think the cost would be astronomical and there are sensors on everything else these days. Car bumpers, airbags, fire suppression systems, maybe a wolf detector lol

Mark, as big as they are and no telling how many's in the Pack. They would kill your dog like a pack of muts killing a possum. The Gov. has an anti freeze collar that is used on a sheeps neck, so when a coyote grabs it! They taste it and like to eat it right along with the Heart and Liver. I don't know if this type of thing would work, because they are in attack and kill mode ( territory expansion) and not attack and eat?? Has anyone seen or heard tell of them eating the dog(s) like a cougar or bear have and will do??

Maybe you could have a vest made that way, kinda like a hog hunter uses? It could be filled with CS, Mace, or Pepper, pressurized by an air valve, and would explode when punctured?
I think someone may come up with a way to make your idea work?? Hope you don't run bear, lion or catch a cat on the ground or it may back fire on you!!

What about a vest with c-4 that can sense when your dog's heartbeat has stopped or bloop pressure stops. Then it blows up. It would be sad but at least you would know where your dog is/was when it was attacked and that you probably took out a wolf or two. It could be duel purpose as the antis that like to steal dogs might not know about the vest.Varminator wrote:Maybe you could have a vest made that way, kinda like a hog hunter uses? Just keep it to one vest per pack of hounds. If you pack more than one vest and a wolf attacks, you could have dogs killing dogs and a chain reaction that could blow off the top of the mountain.
