First, get that guy talking outta there!! haha Looks good really, I wouldn't know where to begin on making something like that so take my critique however you want. I liked the game and dogs action. How about slide the sponsor logos into the screen at the bottom; slide it in from the right, hold, then out to the left, full screen dogs/game, then repeat. I liked the dog work and animals and sometime the logos got in the way a little sometimes. Are you gonna start your own video series?

Thanks for the input. I haven't figured out how to make them scroll across yet. I'm trying to teach myself to use the software so its kinda like running a trashy dog. Sure, I do a lot of stuff but most of it is bad. :) I have been playing around a little with a camera for a couple years to share hunts with my friends and I'm trying to make them look a little better. I want the sponsor logos to stand out a bit more than the hounds for the intro, though. After the intro, I would put the main video and then follow with a credits roll of some sort so I have to keep the intro short enough and present it in a way that doesn't detract from the main video. That's my goal, anyway. lol On a side note, I just saw your post about Beanie last night. Sorry to hear it. :(

I can tell you what is wrong with a dog, but I can't tell you what is wrong with that intro. To me it is awesome. Excellent choice of music. It got me ready to sit and watch a great video...and then it ended. Dang. Like a basset hound, too short maybe.

hahaha, Thanks, David. The song is one that a friend of mine in Oregon wrote and sings. He said I could use it for my videos and I think it fits perfectly. I want him to write a couple more for me. :D

"A long way from Georgia." :) that's probably where some of your hound blood came from, along with the other places mentioned in the song.

The funny thing is that we have a hunter flying in from Georgia this afternoon. :D

I would say hold off on the kill shots in the intro. Most people watch videos to see the kill shots so I would just put some good video in the intro and hopefully they will watch more of your videos to see "the goods."

I agree with what you are saying but the hunts in the intro won't be included in the actual video body. Those are older hunts that I've already done videos for so the new video will have its own subject that isn't related to the intro.

Looks like your doing a good job for just learning how to use the software. Where are your videos going to be sold once you're done? Thanks, it sucked that Beanie died. We went out hunting one day then spent the next roading and a few days later, boom he's sick and swollen, take him to the vet, the vet says his liver is swollen take these pills here and give them to him and two days later he died. He could be quite the character and he wasn't a bad hunter either, he loved cats and you could hear him from a long ways off with that horn bawl he had.

J, I have watched it probably a dozen times or more trying to make it longer, and I am trying to hear the rest of the song, but it never plays, lol.

One thing I realized is there are two logos I can't read very well. I'm watching on my phone, and I think I could read them on a bigger screen. The fourth one shown, they have designed a logo that is just stinking hard to read. The other one I think says Black Eagle, but it gets lost for my old eyes by a dark background. Plum Tree etc has it's own white background. The last one looks awesome against that blue sky. That one takes your look to a whole new level, like what I would expect from a professional graphic designer.

I think it is all fine as is because a bigger screen will take care of it. But for future reference, for rolling credits, etc. I would be gathering great footage with a lot of sky or snow, rolling white water or even a campfire taking up most of the screen, and your subject, if there was one, smaller and to the side or bottom of the screen instead of in the middle where the words would be. ?

The other option would be to use white or light colored lettering, in the Black Eagle example, if your sponsor was ok with that. But maybe they would not be since they are not called White Eagle. Maybe they could change their name to light yellow eagle. Or even "Black Eagle Outlined in White" :D

I think you are right to spend a lot if time and energy on this intro. Because you want one people will crave at the beginning of each of your shows. But it is your advertising for your sponsors and I sure think it could be longer. :D How long is that full song? Too long to get all the verses in I suppose. But I know that a half hour show on TV has about 29 minutes of advertising. Yours is the first one that I wish there was more advertising.

Maybe your friend could splice together a shorter version of the song. Trust me, this is good for him. I assure you he has at least one new fan before the video is released. Put in a couple shots of him singing, and he has his own music video. It might add a cool dimension to yours as well.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I've shared it before but we used that song in this video, as well.

If you google Randy Nicholson Band, Long Way From Georgia, you can download the song. On a side note, I got some great video today starting a bobcat and then video of the owner of Black Eagle Arrows making a beautiful shot on it. :D Hopefully tomorrow, I'll get video of him poking a lion.
