Dangerous situation

Mark was on a Horse, galloping at a constant speed.

On his right side is a sharp drop off,

And on his left side is an Elephant traveling at the same speed as him.

Directly in front of him was a galloping Kangaroo and his horse is unable to overtake it.

Behind him was a Lion running at the same speed as him and the Kangaroo.

What must he do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?
