coming to new mexico to lion hunt

We are coming to New Mexico to do some lion hunting this month. We are bringing our own dogs and hunting the Carson National Forest north of the Pecos Wilderness. Any helpful information would be appreciated. We will have our truck and our feet. We are not afraid to do some walking either. Seems like the Pecos would be tuff access? How is the road system along 518?What is the weather like? Is there snow and how deep? What can we expect from local hunters and guides? We are more interested in treeing a couple lions than killing any. If we can harvest a mature tom that would be great but we dont have any intentions of harvesting any females or young lions. Thanks in advance guys. I will also try and put up a post of the hunt when we get back.

I don't know about the areas you are wanting to hunt but I was curious about what kind of dogs you have and what you hunt in WV.

We have all plotts. Mostly hunt bear, run some bobcats and have one dog out of Idaho that has been used on lions previously

Nice don't know to much about that area I hunt more north. There's going to be some storms moving threw this week might put some more snow on the ground

That area should be loaded up pretty good with snow....bring the snowshoes!
