You could use your e-collar but when i get one that does that i get another pup and start over.

I agree. I also think your 9 mo pup should be treeing pretty good by now esp if it's running tracks. Young dogs are susceptible to making lots of mistakes, but if the behavior repeats itself enough times without correction, your problem will magnify.
