Training methods

Post by Plottandwalker »

So I have never hunted lions and everything I know about it I got off of here, but I have run coons with hounds for 6 years or so. I just picked up a female plott, 4 year old. I was told she will hunt coons and Bobcats. Any chance I could do some training to run lions!? If so any of you experienced guys got any tips for Traing to trail lions? I have two other dogs walker and Black and Tan that will hunt coons.

If your new dog can catch bobcats lion will not be a problem. Go find a track and turn her loose. Andy

Using a drag is not a waste of time to me anyways. Just don't do it to much they get bored with it. Make sure your going to dedicate to hunting lions also if you are using a drag but not going to hunt them on a lion also then you going to waste your time on something your not hunting. happy hunting!

I've heard the odd barn lion helps.
If your going to find tracks you better make tracks!
