Heads up/track drifting blueticks

If your reading this, thanks for taking the time. I am looking for somewhere to start with registered Blueticks. Looking for information on Blueticks that are tight, athletic and will run heads up and have a desire to drift a track and get out front.
I know everyone has different preferences, this is what I am looking for. Dont be shy, and thanks for your info!

Shag ,As Tim said you could talk to Cobalt there in Idaho or Dave S. Hill also of Idaho.Rodney Smith has a litter planned soon.Kenny Driessen would also be a good man to talk to.My experience has been mostly with the Smokey River strain and a lot of them are as you describe.You might also check with Jeremy Robertson of Montana .He had a great little S.River female that unfortunately was killed this season while running a cat in the bluffs .I have a male that is from Dave and Kennys dogs that can move out on a track.

As Tim stated those are the people I would look into. I hear good thing's about 1bluedawgs stuff, I have some experience with Cobalts stuff, I'm hunting a little female out of his stock. She's real tight mouth, good nose, great locate tree dog real accurate. Run's at the front end and can move a cold track with purpose. Honest with her mouth.

That is the type of blueticks that I breed and hunt, one that can grub out an old track but run with their head up like a running walker when jumped. Problem is, I don't breed many females or raise many pups and when I do, I generally keep them for myself and a few buddies.

You sound like a man who likes doing things the hard way Those type of blue dogs are out there but I don't know of anyone mass producing them. It's hit and miss and occasionally you get lucky and hit a home run.

I guess that I am in the minority because I really study genetics. I no longer believe in breeding my best female to the best male I can find and hope for the best. The usual results of this planning meant that at best, I would get one or two pups a litter that would make good dogs. Today, when I make a cross, I fully expect every pup in the litter to make a good dog. Some will be a little better than others but all dogs should be above average. I find myself looking for the dogs that suite me back in the third to fifth generation pedigree.
The three dogs that you will find many times in the pedigrees of the dogs I am hunting are Smokey River JBS Chief, Upson's Blue Boy II and Clear River Diamond Jim. I am sure that no one else would want to feed these potlickers but they seem to make me happy and that is all that really matters.
I would breed a few more females but I am not fond of raising pups. While they can be cute as a speckled pup, I see them as a liability until they are at least 6 months of age.

Any of you hunted with the Rambo2 stuff? @ trueblue ive hunted primarily Walker and running dogs and variations of those crosses most my life. I am probably a bear hunter more so than anything but I LOVE a good bob race. I have a pretty nice blue dog I had some real fun with this winter and at times wanted to pull my hair out. I do things the hard way sometimes for sure, that being said i am not color blind either. As I have matured I find myself getting to the real roots of why I hunt if you will. I enjoy a good mouth, a real tree dog and a consistent effort. Some of my hunting peers would flip hearing this come from me of all people but I really do feel a Bluetick can fit that above mentioned bill better than what I have hunted behind and around, at least in my eyes.
That being said I realize as a guy starts peeling back the layers and really trying to digest some of these lines it gets complicated. I am not a bloodlines guy but im sponging up all the info I can. I just picked up a young gyp today that is pretty heavy diamond jim breeding so my journey begins. love to talk dogs, anyone wants to share some ideas feel free to give me a shout. 208 559 2528 call anytime

clear river diamond Jim. I know a lot of people say the hunted diamond jim stuff, to clarify was meaning direct sons or daughters.
