Shakes Head every time she Eats....
I have a dog the shakes her head like crazy everytime she eats. Nothing is in her throat, i checked. Treated her for ear mites and ticks, nothing there. Any suggestions???????????? Thanks
Does she shake her head when she barks too?? I had a female that would shake her head when she ate and when she barked. Vet checked her and nothing wrong with her ears, he suggested cleaning her ears on a regular basis. I got some ear wash and cleaned her ears once a week. I didn't eliminate it 100%, but she did it a heck of a lot less. You could tell if I skipped a week of cleaning cause she would start shaking her head more so I attributed her head shaking to just plain dirty ears. And yeah it is a pain to clean a dogs ears all the time, at least I don't care to have to do it all the time but in her case it seemed to help. Just an idea.
I agree Hummer. It will be an ear problem 99% of the time. It kinda has me confused that it isn't mites though because that's what it would usually be. Clean ears, and keep her area cleaned if it's either a kennel or a chained area. If there is a lot of waste or anything in general that would attract flys or nats they might be getting inside her ears and causing her to do that.
