Spaying hounds
I have heard when you neuter a male hound it can make them fat and they will lose their drive, but i was wondering what if you spay your females will that mess anything up will it make them fat or make them lose some drive or does it affect them?

Re: Spaying hounds
Rarely do I keep over three hounds, for this reason I like both spayed and neutered hounds....Plenty of breeders to keep us in stock of quality hounds, so why leave one or the other home when they cycle in?
If a dog loses drive? It never had it to begin with...

X2 on what Mike said, but it WILL take out the possibility of some health issues from cancer later in life. I have four females and they are all spayed.
