No mel he was the sire of Daves Hawk dog,He was at that time owned by Dan Sears in Nebraska.Keiths dog Rummie,I would always tease him that he would be a much better dog if he would quit "trying" to make him a straight coon dog and let him run the bear and cats that he loved to trash on LOL He finally did take him to Canada once and let him run bear without frying him and he made every tree they had, even some of the guys regular beardogs didn't even make every tree LOL
The reason I hunt this blood is a quote a friend gave me,"Your either making dust or your eating it."

Finnley River Chief of Cadiz Ky.
Mr Finnley of Cadiz Ky. right along the 2 lane county road owned that great hound. Him and Mr. McGill met one night while hunting down along the river with Chief an (Walker) and Jungle Jim (Redbone) . 2 probably as famiouse reproducers of hounds as any and they run a coon together that night while their 2 owners sit an listened/ boy I`ll bet that was one pretty too hear track and tree up ?Ya think !Travis Stirek wrote:No mel he was the sire of Daves Hawk dog,He was at that time owned by Dan Sears in Nebraska.Keiths dog Rummie,I would always tease him that he would be a much better dog if he would quit "trying" to make him a straight coon dog and let him run the bear and cats that he loved to trash on LOL He finally did take him to Canada once and let him run bear without frying him and he made every tree they had, even some of the guys regular beardogs didn't even make every tree LOL
Out in Ca. the 2 big name Walkers and 1 big name Redbone hunters found best too get offspring a line from out of was Finleys River Chief or Merchants Banjo, or McGills Jungle Jim a Redbone. For many years every one in Ca. thought Joe House Walkers had a red head not a black head and I told Joe about that an he plublished an 2 pge add in the raggs and put pictures of his stud dogs of 4 genorations/ each with a black head !hahahaha !Shorty Marten got imberressed by it and confided too me thtwell they just thought wrong, it was Chief & Banjo thats bloodlines did well here on bear all these yrs. He said for some strange reason ya hardly don`t find a good black headed Walker bear dog on the west coast ! I`m sure not goen to dispute that one with Shorty cause after all these years and as many hunters, hounds and bear that Shorty Marten has been around/ if he don`t know by now-he never will know !
Yea there has been some fine hounds come out of that area in the south and there is a guy liveing in Curelean right out of Cadiz that keep the Pack Man line goen and strong ! Remember ole Pack Man/ he was a reproducer for point hunts and his pups makes fine biggame stock trust me on that one.Ya might want too do a little looken on your own and learn more about that line and who that man is in the Cadiz area who keeps it strong still yet today in time/ his pups make real keepers ok !

cecil Your mistaken on Nite Hawk.Dan Sears raised him out of his crickett female and owned him for the majority of his life. When Dans wife got ill he got out of the dogs and sold Hawk to Tim Nash in Missouri where he lived until he died.

Travis the last time i heard from kieth was years ago. he called me and asked if he could go hunting with me and take rummie. he said once i struck a track and started trailing it he was going to fry the crap out of rummie. (assuming it would be a cat). i think he probally would have been a great cat dog if he would have let him, as much trouble as he had trying to break that dog off bobcats.
