Why not just give an honest opinion if a guy knows some about this line,I've been curios myself.hes got a great looking website that's about all I know.
Re: Crazy cascade blue ticks
I have never hunting with him or his dogs. One should hunt with the dogs you want to buy a pup from no matter who it is. There has been a lot of hounds sold on BS. It is easy to get pictures for a website. There are no wonder dogs and the only way you will be able to see if a dog will work for you is to hunt with it or its parents and then you will be taking a chance. Most top breeders that I know only breed a female when they want a pup for themselves and sale what they don't need. If he or anyone has a dog that you want, buy it you will soon know if it will work for you. Good luck Dewey

Re: Crazy cascade blue ticks
Ok I'm new to the site and seen this topic on top. Steve needs to be a man and make things right I've had a bad Steve Phipps experience I bought a dog from him last November and was told she is a finished cat dog at that time I paid him 2000 for her and was told he would be in Oregon in a few weeks for delivery. After three plus months of shipping excuses I meet up with Steve personally in Northern California and picked up my dog,she happened to be heat. Steve told me I won't need a trial period as what he told me in everyone of our conversations. She is a very gritty dog but has a lot problems I've had to work out which shouldn't be buying a finished dog and after the first month of having her I made contact with Steve asking for my money back, this dog has no interest in cats and leaves the tree every time. Steve gave me a number to a guy back east by the name of buck so I called him and he confirmed every thing I had been complaining about, Buck actually had possession of her for a few years and said her only interest is bears so Steve didn't even know what he had, after all this Steve told me he is a pour man and can't give me my money back but would give me pick of next litter. The last few months Steve has not answered any of my calls or texts.

Re: Crazy cascade blue ticks
Reading the stories Steve wrote in the magazine published by Double-U , those crazy hounds must have been VERY GOOD DOGS. I never knew the man nor have I hunted with any of those dogs, however, I did notice he was buying some blue dogs with some well known bluetick hounds behind them as breeding stock. Most of the time when making such crosses one will get some good pups & some sorry ones. I think I read he was getting out of the hound business & starting up a breeding program with bird dogs? One can print anything on paper, good advice to check out before buying. Selling & buying broke dogs can be difficult. Hope you get your money back. Al
