Anyone ever heard of running scenthounds with a sight hound for catch dog?

I know that Dan Edwards uses both scenthoinds and sight hounds and catches dozens of coyotes each year. I think he has some photos on this site. I am not sure of his strategy though.

If this doesn't work just go to the photo album and go about halfway down the page.

Here is a quote from Dan Edwards :

" I try to hunt whatever dogs work. At the moment we mostly have running hounds and greyhounds. We do have one male that is a crossed up greyhound with dale and bulldog too. We did not breed him for coyote hunting but more as a terrier mans dog. We also have a dog that is half running hound and half redtick. He is an outstanding young dog. I've seen him do some cool stuff this winter.

We like to turn the hounds loose on a creek line timber or just on a creek line out in the open country and get one jumped. Let them push it to a road eventually and catch it with the greyhounds. If that don't work some of our hounds are pretty good at catching them themselves. Eventually I would like to get to a point in our hunting that I never even own a greyhound type dog except maybe a male and a female for breeding some crossbreds."
