Lookin for a redbone Gyp to breed our male too

Post by HOGMAN »

I have a FINISHED hog dog that I would love to breed, NO GYPS that are good down here..... Would like to find some Redbone Pups so I could raise some pups off of him, for personal use... Im in Mississippi, if you know anyone with a good redbone for big game or coon hunting give me a holler... Looking to breed to a finished dog, cause I know my dog is a good one.. He is the dog you can turn him out to find one, he has a great nose, plenty of bottom, not a really big mouth... Ill show him in woods... He is the only Redbone I have, if he wasn't really good I wouldn't want to breed him so bad..

I was referring to NO redbone gyps in my area, or anyone I know do not have any, and I know a lot of people. I just want to breed him. Cause good dogs are hard to come by. And hes the kinda dog I would love to hav around a while. But he gets in situations all the time qwe could lose him.. Hes the dog u can turn out behind someone and he will find a HOG. He has run 4-5 hours this summer from 8-12. Hes a good one, and hes rare because I have not found any redbones in Mississippi.. I might have to breed em to a red coondog.. If no big game bred ones pop up.

Hogman, go back to wherever you got the male and find a cousin or aunt buy them regardless if they are good or not. Make the breeding , keep all the pups, hunt them with him all the time. Keep the ones that equall him or is better. dont keep anything that's less than him . If he can produce, you should be able to have 1 or 2 you can keep. Seeing results in breeding takes a long time and you need to be able to throw away a lot of money. It helps if your are young, rich, single, and unemployed so you can stay in the woods. Good ukc.

The way hogs run today your going to have to find somebody who breeds for big game hunting, there aren't but a few who live in our part of the country that breed for these traits . This is just my experience but coon bred dogs have a harder time sticking with a bad running hog, could've been the ones I dealt with though.

I agree with you Goose... Have had several coondog-bred dogs that just cant stay with a bad running Bo hog...
