Rigging

Post by Hounder900 »

So maybe there's a tread on here about rigging but I was wondering about all the different ways to teach a dog how to rig. I dabbled with it a little bit a while back but then realized its kind of point less where I live. So I went back to a silent box.

Thanks fellas.

I kinda started that way as well. Using caged critters just of the road. I might walk one acrossed the road using a snare pole or roller cage. Some times I would try putting tracking collars on so I could figure out if they were catching the same animal they were rigging. Cause let's be honest, I could drop my dogs off anywhere rigging or not and they would always catch a coon right away and never catch a cat. Haha, lost two collars trying that with cats. But I would just never let umm out of the bot till they opened. And never disciplined in the box.

There is some old timers better at this then me but I believe just repetition helps and some of these dogs are just naturals. I have a pup now that is already striking varmints but has been hauled around a bit on the box.
