Getting a pup to cold trail: added Twist

I didn't want to steal the other guys post and wanted to ask this question. Every one wants and is trying to breed for cold nose so lets say you took two of the best cold nosed hounds and one cold nosed cur dog the hounds are open trailers and the cur dog is semi silent. They are put on a island and left there for 15 years to fend for themselves. what would they be like when you went back. would they still be cold nosed ?

They would probably learn to not bark to catch food. When food was scarce or not moving they would resort back to using there nose to trail out old game.

I think they would be dead. 15 years is a long time.
