terrain vs breed

does a certain breed work better in certain terrain or is it more size of frame of the hound.i like medium size dogs with large chest cavities cause they seem to move better in thick mountain country i hunt in.

A athletic hound is always a good bet. Otherwise a heavier per height hound in the north and lighter built dogs in the heat. But most people go with personal preferences before really picking along these lines. Coat type is another consideration some people do or don't take into consideration
