I was reading my latest LONE STAR OUTDOOR NEWS this morning and under the "Game Warden Blotter" see where a 70 year old lion hunter from North Texas got lost in Brewster County. Story goes he rode away from camp on a mule, but it broke away and left the man on foot. Eight game wardens and family members assisted in the search. The hunter became disoriented and lost his sense of direction but wandered into a neighboring ranch which notified authorities.
I am not sure who this hunter was but hope he gathered his dogs back up and made it home in good shape.

Re: 70 Year Old Lion Hunter
I think thats the same story a friend of mine told me .. can't remember his name though .. did it happen some time ago..?
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Would not have been too long ago as it just made the magazine. Must have been a pretty big deal as Texas Parks and Wildlife brought in a chopper along with the 8 game wardens.

No, the hunter made it home safely thank goodness. Evidently, the fellow in this article did not fair so well.
