Bar Bar, I'd say a lot of guys hunt and are happy with those Cecil Boggs triggs, he has had a name as a good man, and breeder here in Va for a long time, couldn't find anyone nicer. I hope to get at least one more from his stock before something happens to him. I tried to buy a blue female last time I was there but he wasn't interested so I didn't throw out a money offer, felt like it woulda been disrespectful.
Andy. There is a lot of misconceptions about running dogs out there, esp in western va, and some of the northern states. Guys who have excellent deer dogs prob have a breed of dogs that would succeed at hunting anything you trained them too. It's hard to make someone believe you just by talking most need to see or hear for themselves to believe. Glad you got a horn and running the same ground that the old timers ran. Maybe you can get people interested in it in your area and bring some change and education to locals!

I have 8 collars. Occasionally all are filled. I have 1 grown male, 6 females and a male pup. My dogs ages are 6, 4, 3, 3-1 1/2, 1, and 8 mo. All run bobs and greys. Just starting the pup but the rest are pretty straight, no trash problems. I tried to hunt just bobs but found a lack of territory to hunt. Went to hunting both and am having lot more fun.

Hijackings, What kinda of breeding is in their background? They grade dogs or papered dogs?

I raised and trained all except the six year old which I bought from Don Moran in Fl. The 1 yr old is a registered Trigg. The rest are just local stock mostly deer and coyote bred.

I got Sugar from Pete Peck about this time last year. She just turned a year old. She is by Peck's Tugboat and out of Peck's Beverly. I don't know enough about bloodlines to really tell you. This pic was taken at about 6-8 months.
