GPS maps

Post by Uncle Dave »

Looking for opinions on the Garmin HuntView maps vs the onXhunt maps for a Garmin Alpha. Thanks

I have the Alpha with Birdseye downloaded and the 430 with the Huntview maps. I have found that having both is very handy when hunting country that you are not familiar. It seems that some roads will be on Huntview that are difficult to pickup on Birdseye and visa versa. I also like to see the elevation lines which do not show on Birdseye.
Adios,

I use the one that shows the land status .. and it seems to work. I couldn't ever get use to the birdseye when I had that.. There is also a Alpha somewhere deep in the Aldo Leopold wilderness with the Garmin SW maps loaded on it .. if anyone happens to find it I would appreciate it if you get it back to me lol
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
