Yaesu Radio Problems?

I believe its a yaesu ft2800 radio i have had for like 12 years. Last three years when i shut the truck off and talk and then let off the whole radio shuts off then comes back on. Recently its been doing that when the truck is on and im driving. I have it wired right to the battery. And grounded there. Should i ground it some where else? Is the radio shot? All connections look clean and everything is tight. Thanks.

I would open the radio up and see if the solder connections where the power wires connect to the circuit board have come loose. If not look for discoloration on the board or loose solder joints. I'm not familiar with how that model powers up, is it button or turn switch but maybe there's gunk behind the button or a bad/dirty/loose connection on the turn knob. Of course it could be dying too but it sounds like a loose connection somewhere.
