Petition To Ban Lion and Bobcat Hunting In Arizona

Post by CouesHunter »

Folks they are at it again. I am pasting information I received below. Please communicate this to your friends and family that do not get on this site.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has now entered the Arizona ballot initiative process for the 2018 election cycle.

Here is the link to their ballot initiative application:
http://apps.azsos.gov/election/2018/gen ... 4-2018.pdf

Their goal with this action is to get Arizona voters to reject a century of sound scientific wildlife management from our Arizona Game & Fish Department biologists, and turn over the management of wild cats to the ballot box, with an emotion based, non-factual initiative.

What are the real goals of HSUS? Fundraising, first and foremost and ultimately, they want to eliminate all hunting in the United States of America.

They are adept at raising large amounts of money off the backs of unsuspecting donors, and Humane Watch has exposed many of their tactics. You can read about it at https://www.humanewatch.org/

The CEO and President of the HSUS, Wayne Pacelle was quoted in the spring of 2004 with this:

"We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States...We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state."

As the HSUS begins their fundraising efforts to set the stage for their signature gathering, sportsmen and women need to educate their family, friends and neighbors on what is really going on!

HSUS picks several "wild cats" they think need protection by the ballot box. Three of those species are federally protected with the Endangered Species Act and you can't hunt them. One, the Canadian Lynx, does not even exist in Arizona, unless one of our winter visitors would give them a ride!

The other two, mountain lions and bobcats are not endangered and have been successfully managed by the Arizona Game & Fish Department for almost a century! Their populations are stable and in some areas of the state increasing! Click here for some facts on Mountain Lions in Arizona.

The HSUS targets some of their support based on stories from the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times. They include one about a bobcat in Yellowstone, Cecil the Lion from Africa, and the "love of scary animals".

You can read about them here if you're interested.

On behalf of all Arizonans, the Arizona Game & Fish Department manages over 800 species of wildlife including mountain lion and bobcats. To remove the management of these cats from their purview, would not only disrupt the balance their wildlife managers seek on a daily basis, it would also have a negative impact on the other 798 + species they manage.

Sportsmen and women foot the bill for wildlife management in Arizona with their licenses and tag fees. In 1990, California voters turned their mountain lion management over to the ballot box. The result...California taxpayers now pay to kill depredating mountain lions. The California Fish and Game Department annually issues approximately 250 depredation tags to kill (manage) their mountain lions.

We aren't interested in following California's lead, so we need you to do three things:
1. Do not sign a petition for this initiative.
2. Do not make a contribution to HSUS, Arizonans for Wildlife or any other supporter of this initiative.

Please do not make the mistake of labeling these people liberals!!!! They wish they had the support of HALF THE COUNTRY, if you give them that label you would be giving them an INCH OF CREDIT. They are scam artist VEGANS!! They not only want your hunting liberty they want your food liberty, they want your gun liberty, they want your masculinity. Please calm down and see them for what they are domestic terrorist scam artists, read my first few posts.

Peta is the famous animal rights group that is well known. When america finds out who these people are it will be a bad thing for them, they may get lynched. Peta people call it species-ism, kind of like racism its a new term. They believe the general public discriminates against animals, (animal rights). They dont want you to have leather anything, boots, gloves, leather seats. They dont believe in pet food slaughter houses, they dont want people to have dogs or cats. Most every American would consider them crazy, it is all about getting the word out. Please dont give them the democratic platform!!! They are domestic terrorists.

I have a few questions:
-Are there any petitions started to stop them? If so lets post a link to them so people can sign.
-Is there a gofundme page setup for legal fee's? If so lets post that up as well.
-Is there some type of dog hunting org in AZ who has nominated a spokesman and who has hired an attorney to fight this and not only fight it but file suit against the AZ HSUS?

That is the only way we can win, with money, lawyers, and the threat of losing votes. Everything else is pretty much fluff. Lets use their own tactics against them.

If all of this has been done and I have missed it, forgive me.

Sportsman Alliance is the only one that I know of. They have a top notch legal team that defends hunters, houndsman and trappers.
They were a big part of keeping bear hunting with hounds, legal in several states.

If this goes thru and they put it on the ballot you will see it voted down number one. Number two they will have given the rest of American hunters a way to go around the unelected fish and game board appointed biologists. Thats right hunters will demand an extermination campaign be brought to the voting public on the next ballot. You will see all the limited entry lion units gone and a bounty put on cats, just like the coyotes. Just like they did in the 60's when everyone was getting a 30 inch buck and the lions was as thick as rats. Why is it i disagree with everyone on this website, its almost like half the members also belong to peta?

Red Baron. I take it you have not been involved in these battles before. Put you heart and sole into fighting for a way of life and had it stripped. Like people in Oregon or California. I don't think most people dis agree with you. It's just your sarcasm and beliefs are fairly mottled and hard to decipher. So it comes out in an ignorant rant and not a well thought out voice of experience. When you type something reread it at least or wait and post it the next day. You are coming across like the blow hard brain dead brother-in-law that is just conscious because we love our sister and don't want to upset her by knocking you on your ***. You are very smart slow down and put your thoughts together. You have been on hear a month and are passionate but you talk more then guys appointed to run each forum. In short think before you speak. And post your real name and where you are from if you want to be taken serious.

Are you suggesting that you want to be "caught"? Or was there some other inferred message in what you wrote?

This is an example of what I was referring to previously. Do you want to want your message to be heard loud and clear or dismissed because some of it comes across as incoherent ramblings from someone with deep seated anger or inferiority issues.

I know someone that has followed a similar pattern with his online presence. The underlying message is (beep) the world *I* have been judged, denied, and persecuted for far too long.

So all these perceived injustices are expressed and in amplified form. Turns out the guy is gay* and his chosen causes appear to have very little to do with what is really bothering him.

DISCLAIMER: * not that there's anything wrong with that.
