It’s hard to say, because of a couple of good friends. One I got the 3/16 aluminum from. And the other buddy is closing down his fabrication shop and moving to Idaho and won’t let me paid him for all the other materials . So 2 good friends priceless . If I had to guess just in all the materials steel , aluminum , paint , latches , hinges and all the light I’d say close to if not over $2500. I’ll have maybe $500. into it with what I’ve bought, paint , latches and hinges and so.KittyRig69 wrote:That is turning out pretty cherry! If you don’t mind me asking, how much money in materials do you have into it.

David, I want to be buried in this one, I’ve probably built 12 to 15 boxes for myself and friends over the years but never to this extreme . It has just under 30 sq feet of dogbox , I’m going to need more dogs now.david wrote:Wow. You have been busy! Looks like it will be super nice.

Looks good. Did you use any type of coating/spacers between the steel and aluminum? I've heard there can be corrosion issues in the long term if you do not. Any way, Looks good

Jeff,
How's the box working for you? Anything you would change? Have any pics of the finished product?

Re: Flatbed with dogbox
The only thing I’d change would be it off the sawhorses and on the truck lol. Life kind of got in the way of it getting finished then hunting season started and I have a truck fully set up already for hunting so it got put on the back burner hopefully it will be on the truck this summer. If you have any good ideas how would be the time to throw them at me. Not sure if I’ll run the same type of water tank that I have on the other truck or try to come up with something different Right now I have a schedule 80 8 inch in diameter pipe 5 1/2 feet long with a water Spicket next to the door that is mounted on a angle over the wheel well. Also not sure on how I’ll set up the inside of the toolbox. The back doors I’m planning to set up like a diving board but angled down with something for grip so the dogs can load easier if I don’t angel them down it will be 4ft high jump. On the passengers side I want to add a divider on hinges so if I had a injured dog I could confined it to a small area. And not sure what I’ll do on top as far as rail and tie downs , it was built with the plan to be able to load a 4 wheeler on top.Uncle Dave wrote:Jeff,

Re: Flatbed with dogbox
I have just been trying to gather ideas prior to building my first "real" truck box. Hope it works for you once you get it mounted up
