Just moved to California

Post by Trav »

I recently moved to Southern California for work from idaho. I did a ton of bear and lion hunting up there and now that I live here I was looking into the possibility of starting a hog pack. With that I have basically zero experience when it comes to pigs and was wondering if anybody in California has an open seat available for me to ride along. Ill help with gas or any other expenses I would just like to watch and help and see what it would take to get started on hogs. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You're out of luck when it comes to hogs in Southern California on public land. If you want to run your dogs I'd look at Arizona.

Won't be long and they'll begin to flourish, they will provide a excellent food source for the lions, in parts of south Florida they've discovered the lions feed heavily on the piglets and have kept the numbers in check by slowly taking out the smaller ones, maybe by the time I retire lol hogs will have taken a hold in all the parts of the country I've dreamt of hunting, I know the fish and wildlife depts. . cringe at the sight of them but I get a little giddy when I see the reports of them popping up in places they've never been before...

Go tlk to vineyard owners. They are always calling me to see if I will come kill hogs. I sold a few Plotts as pets to the Santa Cruz area two years ago and word got around along with my phone number. I get calls from all parts of the state. I would suggest that you make up a few cards and go visit wineries in all parts of the state.
