There are some good plott breeders in Idaho. I don't know about Oregon itself though. I am sure some of the guys will answer here or you can try the plott sites with this question.

Where were you just a few weeks back? Lion Hunter on here had 14 in his litter.
I only had 4 in the litter my female just had.
We'll most likely be making this cross again in the future.

There's a guy in Idaho that's on this board that has a nice little Pocahontas Plott Female 4 years old for sale.
You can find it in the Plott Section or in the Big Game Classifieds section.

PM me if you need any more help.

Take it easy, and Good Luck!

well weeks ago I was still in school and i had myself a bluetick pup, which is still "growing" up, and sleeping. Im trying to build up a pack, not sure what yet i'll hunt but Ive heard that plotts are pretty good and whatever they do, so they've been put into the hat for possible pack mates for my blue. Also the Leopard cur, they are just really good/strange lookin critters.

well first off whats a "Gyp" second off, I dont want puppies now, lol, and thats probably what would happen with her and my stud. trying to put together and all male pack so all ill have to deal with is fighting and not puppies, which for me fighting is easier to deal with, lol.

Well a "gyp" is a female dog that hasn't had pups, and you wouldn't have to worry about pups, she's fixed she got cut and it perferated her stomach and left overary so I had to fix her. But I was just throwin it out there to ya, shes a pretty well started dog. Never mind

Ahh, well thanks for the offer, dont mean to be rude, im just looking for more of a male pack, ill probably work in some females later on in like 3-4 years but for now, just males.
thanks for clarification of the "gyp" word, ive been in the horse world for a bit to long, so everything is a mare, gelding or stallion, and the young'ns are colts and fillys, lol

That's OK I've got so many young dog too that I just cant work'em all, and yeah I say gyp cause some people dont like ya to call a bitch a bitch. And most of my gyp's are bitches LOL. Oh and I dont want to catch any more Badgers I caught one today just runnin young dogs it went across the road in front of'em. Dang those things are mean. I thought I would let'em fight with it for a bit, but boy was I wrong, That thing whiped all five of those dogs. First one I've ever caught.

Oh man, I have a little plott pup who only has 1 1/2 ears now, another plott took 15 staples in her sholder, and the rest got the air let out of'em just full of puncture holes. Man I tell ya what them badgers have a neck on'em that rivals a bulldog I was skinnin it out and it was really thin hided until the neck and it had a guard on the neck like a hog has on its sholders. And have ya ever seen the nuts on those things I was jelious :o LOL. I think if I'd let it go any longer he would have hurt a dog bad. One of those things is enough for me, I would have rather let thoses pups fight 5 ,30 pound coons at once instead of that badger. I've seen some mean coon but he was somthing eles.

New question, What is the benefit of having a Plott in a pack of dogs? Is it just that they possess more grit, what are plotts mostly used to run?
Also the same question for the Catahoulas.

JMO but Catahoulas are hands down the best bay dog around, If the game is on the ground(They wont look up). I use my Catahoulas in situations like, if we get a bear that is fightin and wont tree, I'll send a few curs down to the bay and most, I said most of the time they will put enough presure on'em to put'em up. And as far as the Plott's go, JMO but they are the best and hardest tree dogs ever made. They lack in nose compared to alot of the english type dogs, like walkers, blue ticks, red ticks and so on. But for the most part they tree harder and put more presure on the game then the other hounds. But that wormer nose is somthing I like about'em because your not spendin all day checking cold tracks, for the most part if they open on it they should be able to run it. But like every thing there are always exceptions, I've had realy cold nosed Plotts and Catahoulas. My Hobo dog was the coldest nosed Catahoula I have ever seen, he ran older tracks then some of my Walker dogs could but I have come to the conclusion that he might not have been all that cold nosed, but just realy track smart(he was good what ever he was). Oh and I think that Plotts are alot smarter then all of the other hounds too. But when it comes right down to it, it's all Chevy or Ford, it's just a matter of preferance.
