Montana state houndsmen associations banquet

Post by Beebout-it »

Saturday night our club held there first houndsmens banquet and man it went way better than anyone expected! It was in Bozeman Montana and the attendance was crazy to me, I wasn’t sure a ton of people would show up but the house was packed! Had a great time and met a lot of great people! It was really great to see so many people come together to have some fun for a good cause.

That’s encouraging. If you judged by this site you wouldn’t think there were a handful of houndsmen in the country. It’s always good to get together with good like minded people.

Definitely, buddy from DU was at the banquet and we spoke about this site for a while. He said he has plans to revamp it, so hopefully he gets after it. There are plenty of people on here but they just don’t post here unless it’s to sell dogs/puppies. At one point he said I don’t think anyone uses it anymore, I said ahh there’s like 4 of use still chatting on there.

Yeah you’re right. I’m 52 but there are a lot guys that older than me and even a lot that are younger that have a lot of knowledge and experience that will die with them unless they share it. Some don’t post because they don’t like texting and others don’t want to called a know it all or get into confrontation over a difference of opinion. I’d like to try and compel them to do for the sake of the sport that they love. I learned a whole lot of what I know the hard way, trial and error. But I also learned a heck of a lot from my much older mentors. I cherish every minute I got to spend with them and man I sure miss them and their stories.
