See ya on the other side ole girl
Last night was one of the tougher ones in 30 years of hound hunting. We had to put Sadie down.Hundreds of guys have hunted with her all over the US and everyone loved her.Nine years flys by especially when your hoping for more.I remember when she was first born and saying"man I hope she stays that black(which she did).I also remember at four months old taking her for a walk in the woods in Nebraska as we were hunting some older dogs and she disappeared and when she opened she was split treed and had her own coon. The same coon that caused her to be a "cheerleader" kill dog. LOL When people ask what is she like as a hunting dog I jokingly tell them "She's no superstar at anything but she's damn good at everything."Bobbie hunted her at the UKC World Finals in Sept. and she looked good.A month later we took her to a hunt and she stood at Bobbies side and booger barked into the night,we found out she was night blind, which we later found out was caused by a brain tumor.Man its hard watching a good dog go from good to sitting in her dog house barking at the roof and trying to bite Bobbie. The Good Lord and father-in-law must of needed a good one.See ya on the other side old girl, its been a good ride on this side.

The reason I hunt this blood is a quote a friend gave me,"Your either making dust or your eating it."

Travis, sorry to hear about her. They never can be replaced, but you can go on and make her memory proud. In time we begin to realize that the trophys on the wall and the ones on the mantle are not the ones that matter the most. It's those that you and Sadie girl locked up in your mind, and when you get really lucky one of them may even come to visit your dreams.
Keep after em!
Keep after em!
