My opening day was a success. i put 3 dogs down on a bait and they cold trailed a couple miles to another bait and wanted to cross into a section where i don't like to run so i picked them up but i was pleased with the cold tracking. after watering the dogs i head south to the next road and had a rig with a water track so i piled them in one at a time. they walked the bear for about a half mile then treed it. i got to the tree 20 minutes before anyone else so i tied back 3 dogs and left 3 at the tree. i went to go put my camera back in the case and looked back and the bear was coming down. she(the bear)got within reach of my morgan dog so she pulled a little fur. the bear then jumped out of the tree from about 5 ft. up right on top of my clifford dog. the bear continued to stomp on him while 2 others were pulling hair from the back. i cut the other 3 loose and the fight was on. they worked that bear over for about 15-20 seconds. the bear then took off and treed about 100 yards away about 30 ft. up. luckily no dogs were seriously hurt and it turned a couple younger dogs on big time.
