those are my biggest grips fellas. Owners and breed associations that know that the parents or that one parent is totally from another breed. Once that can be fixed we may get somewhere.....

I personally don't care about papers on an individual dog if it can catch game. However I see the advantage of keeping track of a dog lineage. Here's my question, could you not have a category for a general big game dog? I mean if a dog is a walker then its a walker or whatever. But some people run trigg crosses or whatever joe blow hound hunter thinks will make a good dog. How about a seperate registry as a big game hound for those dogs just to track lines and genetics? I think thats what everyone is after anyway, isn't it?

right now----

take a walker or english looking dog and if it will tree a coon for 5 minutes -- it can be single registered -

our hounds rite now are basically sorted by color-
and these colors overlap

for instance a ticked up walker and a light bluetick-

it could be of one breed or the other -- or it could be 50?50 mix-
and u cant tell by looking -- you cant even tell with dna --unless u can test all dogs involved --

id like to see them do something like cattle registry used to do--

certified grade-- then single register-- over generations

long term thing -- nobody has purebred dogs-- but they are purer than a half breed-

if they want to have ukc events--- for big game hounds-- i guess they need to be ukc dogs-- i dont see this as ever amounting too alot as far as breeding just because there are so many diferent crosses out there- the events could be lot of fun -
dog might be a walker cur pointer bloodhound pitbull plott mix -- and look like an english -- just too many possibilities -lol

just remember --that your papered dogs --- probably have all of the above in them -- yours ,mine ,anybodies --
--- thats how we got them -- we took dogs that were a mixture and bred them fora few generations and now we think they are purebred- they arent pure bred- -- they are just papered- lol

-can keep records of matings-- just the same as they do on papered dogs-- starting today --- but i dont want to cross my registered dogs with a dog that could be a mixture of anything up close- --

if u had a walker looking dog that came from generations of breeding big game hounds - carefully bred -- hunted- just not papered - that u can show me are good dogs--and you get them registered -- i wouldnt hesitate to breed to one

im all for single registration - for the better dogs-- -so how can we do it -- thats workable -- -

if you dont think that this can work--- tallk to some beaglers that run ukc beagles-

they opened the books--- let anything in-- ukc beagles are as good as akc beagles-

akc is very strict compared to ukc- how came the akc beagles arent better????????????????????????????????????????????????????

i think its real simple , those grade dogs were culled harder -dont have the color issue with beagles --
