My advice to you as a young man getting started in the game , don't buy blueticks. Thats just my opinion. If you want an all around dog that's good on bear,lion,etc.-buy plotts. You'll never regret it. Congratulations with your new endeavor!

Good post Mudflap. There are good and bad in any breed. Just find what you like and dont worry about the haters

I don't hate any breed of dog. I was just trying to help a fellow hound hunter get started on the right track.

Just do your homework on the color you like you can find the TYPE of dog you like in any breed just takes longer in some breeds to find what you are looking for and that goes for all breeds.

Bluetick pups

Post by Bticked »

I have a post on her now for a friend. Norcalhunter, I take it your not looking right now but if you are, my buddy has some Uchtman pups for sale that hes trying to get rid of. He now has 2 females left. All pups have been showing promise on scent and I took the parents out this weekend and we caught 2 bears the first day and couldnt make it to the tree for my dog and the sire on a big boar. They are awefully good lookin pups. Not quite sure why release doesnt like blueticks, must have had a bad experience but they suit me just fine. I have seen that plotts just dont have the nose that I want, sure they have grit but without the nose, they aint gonna catch it unless the blue dogs start it for em, LOL.
