Opinions Please Wildlife Materials TRX-3

I am considering buying one of these tracking systems used, and I was wondering if anyone here has used them and what their opinions are of them Thanks.

hard to go wrong with wildlife boxes. Just limited on the number of dogs you can put on a three, if thats not an issue, I'd say its the best choice out there.

Zach you are at the lowest end of the spectrum in the wildlife units with the trx-3. I still run wildlife and will continue to do so but its all about range and power output, Even though you may never cut more then 3 hounds loose you should consider buying the bigger more powerful units.

I believe you will be disappointed in that choice if you get it. I have had a few friends buy it just to turn around and buy the trx-16 or 48 a season later. Your terrain and planned use is also a factor. Will you be coon hunting and hitting cornfields where you only need a unit that might be lucky to get 2 miles in a straight line

I do not know your deal or the following deal but you might want to look into this deal before getting the trx-3.....

An antenna is an antenna but collars are as important as the unit itself. Some deals sell collars with the unt and some sell antennas and some sell both. With this deal you can buy your own brand of collar and not get stuck with some of the other junk on the market.

Thanks for the help guys. I agreed to the deal before I had a chance to read your opinions,but I think i got a good deal as I have been using a really bad scanner that wasn't meant for tracking, so I think this is a step up. How big I don't know, but it has to be better than what I had. It comes with three wildlife collars, but I do have a couple of marshall collars and a qt collar, I may see how much it will cost to have the receiver's crystals changed to pick up my marshall collars. The guy that is selling it to me offered a money back guarantee if I'm not happy with the performance. I am a bit concerned because I hunt a lot of mountain terrain with canyons and such, but as I said above it's got to be better than a crappy scanner. I'll let you'all know how it works out.
