What about the long legged hunt

Post by tman308 »

Hey Randy,

You gonna tell the story about the long legged 2 day no treeing bear hunt?

Can't wait to get back out there again with you and James.
Pictures are great.

Thanks

Love the pictures Coop, and sounds like a fun time.

Ya know guys all of us like this kind of stuff and would do a lot more of it every day if we could. Never think that big game hunting with hounds is a competition type sport for it is not for there is no level ground out where the paws meet the ground. It is great to celebrate a good day and allow us to all enjoy it by feeling a bit of a part of it. Randy is the real deal and he enjoys letting others enjoy the sport so I toast him. CHEERS!

Let's all enjoy our freedom and never take it for granted. Some like to fuss a bit and Dennis gives and takes but there is no doubt he loves his hounds and his sport and is out there getting after it. The nice thing about this forum is we don't always agree or see eye to eye but we can express our feelings and let others share that as well. It's as easy as flipping a switch to never look at it again and it would be no problem. Thanks to all of you guys like Coop, and Ike and others that keep it intertesting and give us somthing to look forward to after a hard day at work when we would much rather have been out there with those guys listening to the hounds.

Don't forget to get out and vote this year guys let's keep a hunter in the big house Oh I mean the White House, and lets keep those guns next to us on the pickup seat.

Hey Tman...You mean the 2 days of walking 8 miles each day through scrub oak and Manzanita to watch a 150 lb bear beat the crap out of my dogs..Ive been cleaning bite holes with peroxide for the last week
...Or maybe I should mention the dogs I lost Friday on that little bear and picked up Tuesday...The next time I go in there, It will be on horseback and Ill have someone carrying a rifle instead of bow :D :D

I think its safe to say, that my young dogs know what bear looks like now... :o ...With all that, it was a great time ....Will be out again this week for round 2

Hey Mike, I appreciate the kind words partner,...I never meant to create a fuss...The fact is, Ive never had dogs keep on a bear for that long..Especially only 2 dogs...I guess the planets were aligned that day or something..Take care guys....Coop

Randy,
That's the one. I have to say though for my first bear hunt with dogs I had a blast. I was very sore from hiking up and down those brush choked canyons but I would do it again. Maybe we can chase them in October when the rifle hunt opens. I'm still seeing sign in the same areas and I found a new spot with lots of fresh sign.

Thanks Again
