Antelope Decoy
Antelope Decoy
Any opinion on which might be the best decoy, and the most used methods?

I had one of mel duttons decoys, I called it timmy the intimidator...... I have had bucks decoy, but like 1 out of 10. Its fairly heavy and if your alone and in hard soil, its hard to stake down, I would opt for one of the lighter decoys like the montana or something. They have there use as a hunting tool, but don't expect miracles.

Thanks for the reply DD. The one I have is a "Renzo" decoy. I have had a couple bucks come in to about 60-70 yards but that is out of comfortable bow range for me. I've had guys tell me they sometimes can walk right up close with one but it seems I always spook em when I try that method.
Mt. Dog we have both the Renzo's and the Carry-lite. We have taken about 15 bucks between the two they both work. The carry-lite is the most realistic but not fun to pack usually use it when set up in a blind. The renzo's is great for packing but not good in the wind or rocky ground. Best to have someone running it for you.
It's a little early to be decoying.

Rico, I have experienced trouble in the wind also. What method has been the most productie for you? Does it need to be the rut to work well? Thanks

It will be awhile before the rut starts here. Montana has an early archery with a special tag that starts Aug. 15. The general archery starts this weekend. I've been sneaking in to 1or 200yards and setting up the decoy but not much response yet. I'll try more when they start chasing does. Anybody want to give up any pointers on how to make this work better? Thanks
