not to be a smart ass, but when as paper ever caught you game? if the breeder is reputable then who cares if the dog has papers or not. go with teh parents if the parents are solid then you buy. my unregistered bluetick is probally as good if not better than many papered blueticks...

Bob's a good freind of mine and ya cant beat his BMC's, his Norm dog is as good as they get, and not a paper one. I have one of his Leopard cur crosses and I wont sell this pup for all the gold in the ocean's. This little pup is livein up to the name that he was given " Hobo" and he's walkin right in the foot steps of my first Hobo dog. 5 months old and will bay a hog all day. So I guess what I'm tryin to say is papers dont mean a thing, and I'm not buyest by no means, I have just as many papered dogs as grade dogs,I've seen'em all at a bay and a tree, but never seen there papers there LOL.
