Hurricane Hogs

[blueFortunately we didn't get any of the bad weather from the hurricane...which also means we didn't get any rain either.][/blue]

James "Longshot" Reasoner and I met up again last friday for a nice morning hunt here in Lampasas. We didn't get into any size but still managed 5 pigs in about 3 hours.

After convincing James the river was not very big or deep we finally make it to the river. When we get to the bank...that wasn't the case. The river had come down from rain further north and it was plenty wide and deep. It was an odd situation. We had three young boars scattered across the opposite bank. When the dogs hit the other bank....two of the three hogs swam right back to our side. I hunt in shorts...so I was pretty sure I was nominated to do the swimming.

Use to live in Coppers cove for a litle while station @ ft hood. I never got to hunt while stationed there. To busy doing manuvers and traning. Saw alot of snakes and deer but no hogs. this was back in 1981.

Got a younger brother that lives in so east Austin 5 mins from the Airport. But he's not a hunter. I'd like to make it out there and pick up a BMC from a breeder. But I may to get one closer to California.
