Got one up in about an hour. From strike to back at the truck. Seen lots of sign, and got it started pretty quick.

Thats great Cassandra. Did you get good pics of joker. Quick run. We let loose on one alex and joe fiqured at 450 according to track size. Hemi, duke and silver treeded it, but it jumped out. Was getting pretty hot, and was almost 1pm when we got the dogs back. Was a fun time and a good one for silvers first run and it being opening weekend.

Great Job

Post by hemihound0713 »

Great job mike. I wanted to run again, but the guys that was hunting with us, they wanted to get there tents up and there spot before the other people got it. Plus everyone was hungry. It was just too hot to run again. On top of it being hot hemi, duke and silver were out of shape.

Just got back home and thought we wouldn't do any good today I saw a track at 10:30 and put a couple dogs down and they found it in the brush and started cold trailing off and put in a third dog which is how many guys I had today and they fought it on the ground fo a hour then it tried to make it over the ridge but they treed it just below the top and a young guy that hadn't been bear hunting before put his tag on it and he was a happy young man( way to go Eric). Thats cool. I cant wait to go again. Im real happy with my plott female. She did really good for it being her first bear track.

Here is a picture of her while alex and the guys were BSing and eating lunch. She looks a little better after running, still not in shape tho.
Here silver is while the guys were BSing.

I was up your way today Mike. There's a big one, he hangs out just west of Caps, we ran him last year too, went the same route today, but this time started him on Plumber ridge Rd ended up at the Imagrent trail, he's big and dont want to tree, had four dogs on him and he just kept on goin, so I'm done til next weekend, hella of a first race LOL. Sounds like ya'al are doing great.

I got a few good ones of Joker. He sure is a nice acting 7 month old. I didn't take as many as I would have liked. The camera wasn't working right, I think cause it was almost dead. Kept missin good shots cause it was so slow to snap. Then that bear started coming down, and it was more important for me to let Joker get fired up than to take pics. He wanted it bad, he was screaming jumping on that tree trying to rip the bear off the side. But we pulled em back some and let it go safely. Joker missed seeing it land, it jumped off the opposite side of the tree. LOL. But as he gets older he'll learn. He was way too worked up. Don't think I'm gonna run him until later. He's just so young I worry about him getting spooked.
