Damnit.. Quit pickin on the Retard Elk.. they've got enough problems..

All kidding aside, a leagal bull is a leagal bull to me..

As far as Deer I've been passing few smaller bucks up in the recent years.. but I've decided this year I'm dumping the first leagal Buck I see so I can get back behind the dogs. Them Button bucks may not be a wall hanger.... but they sure do eat good.. :D

Nice Job!

hey buddy if you want my pack would probably be right behind that deer so you could do both. I know you have culls that won't run deer, I just don't know how you have fun with broke dogs...

That's funny Buddy...been out hunting and all I've seen is SMAll hanging...last one I saw we were 30 yrds away from their camp and I demanded binoculars to see if it had anything on it's head! About 3 inches I figured...they have better eyes then me obviously!
Other funny on the way home in dark we almost hit a small forked horn! Told my son there is no way I'm tagging that if you hit it! We were within inches cause he was not paying attention!
Now he's telling me he doesn't care what we see in size....I'm shooting it! We had 3 tags and only one filled so far and I think he's getting a little tired cause he took my other son and grandson out bowhunting also...and then we go for Elk...I'm thinking even though he is 6'5 and my son...he's going to find a way to make me shoot 'Bambi' this weekend if I get a shot!
One thing is true though and I don't care if elk or deer--the younger the better the meat...so.....looks like I'll be having to keep my sites on 'Bambi'....at this point. :)

:D Yea.. that's Ok Last year was the first year that I didn't shoot a deer in quite a few years.., and the crappy part was I had 2 deer tags in my pocket One was a Any thing type tag.. I Drew a Lion tag and so I saved all my vacation time for Cat hunting. I passed a couple small bucks, and missed a couple opurtunities for some nice bucks.. But at the end of the day I drew up short, I don't think I even went out hunting for the last day... I was just ready to get behind the dogs..

So I'm sure Tomorrow or this weekend, or maybe next, I'll find a small buck, And I'll throw up on it.. Then throw down.. Then throw back up on it.. talking to myself Into it.. then back out of it.. Cussing a bit and back into it.. Hell I Might even flip a coin out there... I really enjoy Blacktail hunting.. I really do.. But right now the quicker I can get back into oregon and get schooled by the bobcats the happier I'll be.. Who knows maybe tomorrow I'll run into a big bruiser first and that will be any easy Choice!!

Good Luck !
