Opinions on the QTR-6000

I have one. I like it, but it isn't the best one on the market like they say in the ad. Any wild life will out track it for distance seen it a few times. What do you guys think?

Maybe i better send mine in. It even seems like when i first got it i could track a lot farther than now. Yeah i think i will. Theres gotta be something wrong w/ it, because you guys are telling me the same thing i've herd from some other guys. Thanks.

Love mine to death, only thing I'm not sure about is the Quick Shot antenna. Will out track my F.L. hands down and is ever bit as good as the wildlife 64 I used as a backup. I don't know if its better then a Marshall but it was also a lot cheaper then a marshal or even a wildlife box. It tracks better than a friend of mines wildlife 1000 but his unit is old and beat up as well. I really like the feature of the 3 way attenuator switch as well, makes it a lot easier for me to tell whether there across the canyon or above me or below me. I'M not sure how durable the Quick Shot antenna is going to be though.

I like mine, you can track alot of collars and the price is right.
The only thing I don't like is it goes through a lot of batteries. I
have to change the battery 4-5 times hunting from May to September.
My old F & L would only need changed once in that time frame.

the quick shot isnt bad,not quite the range as a yagi.However in my opinion it isnt really any easier to carry than a yagi.Even tried a shoulder strap on mine.Ended up sellin it and going back to the yagi

The thing I like about the quickshot antenna is that you can leave it open and sit it in the back or passenger seat while the other yagi you almst have to fold it up every time your done with it because they take up so much room. So far thats the only advatage of it Ive found.

I have not had a problem with mine works great only problem in rainy weather it is not water proof, could be an issue if hunting in rain alot.

Absolutely love mine. My old Wildlife box gave me reliable service for 18 years, but when it finally went out I replaced it with the QTR 6000 and haven't regretted it.

At the extreme fringes of range it may not pick up as well as the Wildlife 1000, but 99.9% of the time if I can't get a signal neither will the Wildlife. Add that to the lower cost, the versatility of being able to track any freqency, and the increased portability, and it is by far the better value IMO.
