I know for myself I would rather not have them buggers over my head in the dark

The cool is easier on all involved, dogs bear and men.As far as easier runs or trees its about the same.

Good job Sam. Glad to see you guys are getting them treed. I am new to this game and still trying to get my coon hound to work. He will go for a ways, maybe a hour or so, but the next day his legs getting swelled up and his feet are a little pink. Then he is done for a couple days. Well I though that he was in pretty good shape from coon hunting until I tried this bear chasing. We have got a few treed, but we got outrun a few also. Me and my buddy have tried three real good coon hounds and, well lets just say on bear they don't look like the others.

B pringle- dont get too discouraged yet--- its going to take awhile to get coondogs in the shape that bear dogs need to be-on long races --
if you knew of a slower bear dog to run them with for awhile ,mite help to get em in shape-
in an hour they can get too far behind- to be doing them any good --
as they get behind they go slower and slower-
one hour isnt doing much to get them in shape for a long run -
and they got to win some -catch the bear or make the tree - to really put their heart in it
dogs that been coonhunted alot need to change the way they run an older track if they are going to keep up-
sometimes you can tell - they just dont like bear and u wont change that
some got it and some dont --if they went -- u got a chance --
are they FAST coondogs-- i dont mean can they tree a coon--
are they faster than average-- ? if they are id keep trying -lol you already got em trashin
