Houndmen are like hounds. They are going to run cats. I know it hurts your chaces of ever getting to hunt back, but ODFW has chosen to look the other way. The fact that cats are being harvested shows how green most of the guys doing the killing are. I don't think you can do anything to change this. Some will grow out of it when thier thirst for blood is quenched. Some never will.

I didnt think you were. No misunderstanding herestacey robeson wrote:I dont condone the shooting of every cat or even the taking of females never have . I learned that as a dumb kid shooting every coon and soon had none. heck as far as cats goes I could almost never even tree one. I hope that my ignorance is not held against me I haven't hunted that country in there, I read an article about that area an believed it. it wasn't ment to sound like I'm an expert. I'm not apologizing, just felt I needed to clear that up? I'm on here to learn as much as I can, not to be a self apointed know it all.

I think there is a small percentage of morons that shoot out everything in the belief that hounds must have stuff fall out of the tree to become good dogs. I would disagree with this theory although I like to be able to shoot stuff out to our dogs legally. Those who have no regard for game laws affect each and everyone of us and I do not watn to be associated with KILLERS!. I believe we need to leave seed for the next generation. Could I turn in someone I know? don't know but would hope I could represent our sport well.

Re: illegal lion kills
hello. i live in washington state and we share the same problems of oregon. i have noticed a decline in deer and elk steadily in my region and so has everyone else. brush pickers, poachers, greedy hunters, people who make bad shots, the disease that makes all the deers hair fall out and die up here? honestly they are all probably a factor. as far as cougar go a guy just got popped killing a huge tom up here last week w/ hounds. its too bad. until everyone forms a union of sorts and stops killing lion with hounds weather you are illegal or not the game dept. will have to do something. unfortunatly we cant out vote seattle and all the mislead do gooders up here. we got a lot of bad press in 96 and 1997, and that is all the yuppies know about hound hunting so how can you blame them. all i can say is somehow we all have to come together someway. i dont know how. it is sad to see people around here that turn you in because they dont think there is a hound season at all. educating the public and making allies to the houndman/ or woman is our only chance i think. as far as people killing cougars out of season w/hounds, there is always a jackass in every club of anykind in the world, sadly a lot of times they get the recognition and we carry the bad rep. people like that in my mind dont catch much game and feel moved to kill anything to celebrate because it is such a rarity. just some good rambling from another bitter hound man, happy new year!!!
