dog question

soo i got this dog bout a month ago
out of local lion dogs..he's a year old and still really immature
he's been hunted before, a few times i've taken him and we didnt catch anything but he's been under a few lion trees..well i figured i'd buy some scent and try and see if he'll run a drag since he's always got his nose down and is real eager to hunt when we take him
scent just came about an hour ago and he show no interest in runnin the trail...he winded it in the tree and barked a few times but passes up the scent on the ground which seems kina weird to me
myabe it was the other dogs in the kennel barking that kinda distracted him? maybe i'm just too impatient and expect too much....

funny thing is i turned one of my beagles lose and he located the trail, worked it to the tree and barked underneath it. i know who i'm takin next hunt!!! hahaha
but really
any comments, opinions or insights would be greatly appreciated
