i run rabbits pretty steady through the season here in maine. dont run them much during cat season but we shot about 40 or so this year. still got about a month and a half left. march is always a good time to run bunnies. although they do run a bit further in march. just makes it that much more fun.

oh my god. 15 beagles!!!! did i read that right. thats a lot of little hounds hahah. weve only got two but they run real well. good enough for us anyways. we can run till the last day of march so we still have some time. do you have a bunch of rabbits down there? seems like the last few years we have had an over abundance of rabbits every where we go. i think thats the reason we have alot of cats around the last few years as well. lots of food for them.

Sure wish I could find someone down here in Florida that is running beagles. There does not seem to be a lot of interest in them here. Too bad as it is one of my favorite things to do!

I train all my young hounds on rabbits for 8 weeks to 6 months. gets them using there nose.
Also shoot alot with 12g and .22 with or without dogs( i use a GSP and Jack Russell Terrier) can shoot between 12 and 50 a night after work and 200 or more spotlighting of a night.
Makes for cheap hound tucker.
