I have left a few dogs overnight, and always gotten away with it. However, yesterday I had a dog that wouldn't come in and the tracking system indicated he wasn't moving. I tracked in his direction with the tracking system until I got close enough to get him on the gps system. When I found him he had fallen into a gully and on the way down had become wedged between a tree root and the bank. He was stuck and with the cold temps and the way he was stuck without being able to move, he would have been dead by morning. The rock canyon he was in produced so much bounce that I never would have found him in the dark with out the gps, so the gps paid for itself again last night.
