Congrats! Awesome animal, got a big old punkin head on him, and you let him Go?

Pretty cool, the biggest I've taken is not the biggest I've caught, but maybe someday. Going to be hard to get better pics of him next time you catch him, that head shot is one I would frame.

Jube in the second picture the way he is licking his chops I think that he was thinking if you get any closer he is going to have you for lunch.
Really nice pictures.

I would say he was an 8 foot cat. we cold trailed him 4 hour before we got him jumped then the dogs caught him in the bluffs the first time then put him in this small tree.

Guys,

Jube is a close friend of mine and the real deal. He doesn't have to BS he gets out there and gets it done. He is double tuff and his dogs make it happen.

Jube buddy it's always good to see your stuff because we know it's the real deal.

Nothing wrong with letting them big toms go, hell they are still gonna be out there and leaving some big tracks to get them flop eared hounds fired up on the next time.

Turn em loose!!

Beautiful animal for sure. I am happy to hear you released him. Personally I wish more people would be happy with just the whole experience of hunting hounds and sitting under a tree watching the dogs tree and seeing these awesome cats up close and personal. I took a tom 6 years ago and he was a dandy. 8ft 3in long and just under book. About a year and a half ago I sold the rug I had made out of him. To me the thrill was not looking at a hide or a mount on the wall the thrill was in the chase and tree. I have treed a lot of lions since him, one was even more supurb and I would say he was a record breaker, but letting him go gave me more joy than taking him ever would. I respect you and your decision to let him go. I hope the next person that gets him treed will do the same. Congrats on the catch and the awesome photos.
