I'm told this Bill has passed, and according to what I read, and will be on the book and in law by the stated date.......

Qualifications For Licensure, section 58-78-302 1.c:

Applicants must produce satisfacory evidence of good moral charactor.

Dude, that clause just disqualified the majority of hound doggers in this state!

Ike. obviosly you don't want a bunch of drug bag poachers for guides in your fine state. Here is an example of moral standing in nevada. A good friend of mine applied for a subguid liscense of some sort in nevada last year. He was denied because of his prior game violations. His game violation was shooting sage rats from a county road without a hunting liscense. He was sixteen years old when he recieved the citation and he is now 42. 26 years later he is not a good moral candidate? B.S. ? I think so. I think whenever our way of life is threatned we need specific writing in the law or bill. No room for interpritation!!! e.g. 1 or more big game violations, drug convictions, domestic violence, whatever the case may be, just be specific in the wording. I do not want to start an argument JMO. Thanks for this thread I think it is an important and valid one.

I couldn't agree more with what you just said. Sorry about my response to Kevin, but that was just joking and sarcasm and not the way I feel. I DO NOT SUPPORT THE STATE'S NEW GUIDE BILL LAW, PERIOD! And the example you gave is why, a marked young man is a marked man for life which I don't agree with........

this bill is a abunch of B.S. if you ask me. now ever wanta be guide is going to go get them a license and call there selves a guide. the other thing that I think sucks, is we don't need any more goverment in our business.
