It doesnt really matter whether we are talking work boots or hunting boots. I just wanted to know about Whites and you guys sound like you like them alot. It may just be me but i really like the looks and what people say about the higher heeled, high arch support boots. When i get a pair they will be used for everything, wherever i go the pair of boots i have broke in and like the best goes.

don't get me wrong, I spend several days a year hunting in my White's and wouldn't trade them for the world. I used to have a lot of arch problems and since I started wearing White's, my problems went away.

Thanks, i have pretty flat feet and had problems with flatter shoes so i switched to cowboy boots 4 years ago and i also have a pair of double H packers. But i am now looking at moving up to a more handmade higher end boot like the Whites. Do you get yours straight from Whites or somewhere else?

I get mine from Al's Bootery in Billings. Tools and boots are two things that one should never scimp on.

I agree with what the guys have been saying about whites. I wear the smokejumpers and have for the past 12 years. I have heard from a pretty good friend that the Nick's boots are pretty similar and that is all he wears. He lives in WA.
If you get a pair of white's you will need to be patient and "break" them in as they are made out of thick stout leather.

just slip them on without lacing them up and gently walk outside and right into the creek. Keep going until the water runs in over the top. Stop right there and lace them up. Walk out and wear them until they are dry. It will make for a long day, but once is enough.

I bought the whites outdoorsman this year. They are built more like a hunting boot, insulated, water proof lower heel and wider in the front and rebuildable. Defenitely proved to be waterproof and warm(but our winters arnt like yours up north). Bad thing they are even harder to break in than regular whites. Stood in creek with them for 5 minutes to break them in (never leaked). They are heavy too. I like the farm/ranch packer for everyday use

I used to wear Whites Cowboy Pacs in the winter. Now when the snow flies I wear Schnee's Horseman Pacs for everything. I like them a whole lot better

Ethan I am with you on the Schnees Cowboy Packer over the White cowboy pack. I love White's boots but them damn winter pacs are so heavy it's unreal. They are tough and warm but mighty heavy.

Let me tell you about a boot I have been wearing the last couple of years in the warmer weather . It is the Chippewa elephant hide cowboy packer. This boot is not nearly as hard to break in,wears like iron with the pachaderm hide and has a good all terrain sole on it that slips in a stirrup good but you can still get around in the hills if you need to walk. I got mine from Cabelas and they are about a third the cost of White's.http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0020848822721a.shtml

Whites is an outdoor tradition and their loggers and smokejumpers are tops but after wearing these Chips I gave my newest pair of Whites cowboy packers to a buddy in Idaho.

How about Hell's Canyon Packers? Anybody wear them?

I don´t know about the Whites. I have bought from the Russel Moccasin Co. two pair of boots. But first let me tell you how I knew about the Russel.

I remeber reading a Post from Mike Leonard that a pair of boots like the Russel and the Whites, were the real deal, you will like them more with the years. They were the top of the line.

So I search in the internet for the Russell, I don´t now why but I never look for the White boots.

I leave in Old Mexico so in the winters, the climate is not that cold and no snow. So I bought Upland boots Lightweight, one is from Kangoroo skin. You don´t have to break them, they are very light and real nice and it take them 4 month, because they make them to your personal measures. It was a very good decision to buy those pair of boots.

Much more better than the Redwing and Danner I use to have. When this two pairs arrive, and I try them. I give away the three pair of boots I use to have (redwing and danner)

Sorry I don´t know about the Whites, but I just look in the Internet and for my point of view, they have to much heel, and it would be hard for your back.

Saludos,
