Looking for dogs going back to 'PR' GREEN KILLER

Post by Redwood Coonhounds »

We had a line of top dogs all coming off a son of his. One of the best dogs around, who came from Oregon that was out of this dog named Green Killer. Wanting to see if anyone's heard of this dog, or by chance had a dog that has this dog in it's pedigree. There is one grandson (with him in the 4th) that my family owns that is 12 y/o. This dog wasn't hunted much, and he is the last that I know of in this line. Wondering if it would be worth the chance to breed to him before he dies to try and keep some of the old blood around. Or if it was still floating around up north...

The son out here was named Duffus. Did alot of winning in the trials. Was bought out of Oregon as a top cat dog. Never used out here on cats, but was as close to a perfect bear dog as you could get.

The only problem is, is that this dog himself wasn't hunted too much. When he did, they said he was as good as any, but was owned by an Older Relitive, that quit hunting. So for the last 8 years stood on a chian in the back yard. No one even really remembers what he was like.... I never got to see him goe myself. The other thing is - he's only a Grandson of Duffus which makes Green Killer in his 4th. After breeding to him, I don't really think dogs that far back and that make up that little of the pedigree even matter anymore. Might have some sentimental value, knowing it goes back to them way back - but I don't think thats enough. Considering 3/4 of the pedigree I'm unfamiliar with.

Just though someone might have had something out there that had em in thier pedigree.

I am looking for you. I talked to a old government hunter friend of mine. He has lived in Oregon and hunted it for about 30years. He hadn't heard of the guy, but is going to talk to another guy who is older and has been around longer then my friend LOL... If anyone can find that dog, it will be these guys...
