Story ????????????

Post by HardHittin »

About 10 years ago i found a story on the history of plott dogs.
In that story one of i think Henry Plotts sons or nephews said that the plott was curs not hounds. I saved it but can't find it
it was a good read

Hard hitting that is something that is very controversial in the plott world. You have the ones that believe in the pure theory and then you have the ones that believe in a more practicol theory of the plott family using tight breeding but using from the best stock available and with outcrosses. you have to realize that it was not till around 1950 ( sure somebody can give an exact year ) the breed was recognized by UKC so it is a farly new breed.

Thanks Smiley
This wasn't made to make people madd
Course I got alot of quesitions that might
I've seen this whole internet thing make it alot easier to get good dogs around here North Ca.
The first Plott I ever seen was over thirty years ago in this part of the country. She made a good dog :D
I see people breed for show and not what the hound was intended for :x
It makes me mad :x :x To see people saleing pups for bear and coon dogs when the bitch or the dog has all show points.
Maybe it's me but leave the show for the kids but leave the hound to hunt!!
Told ya . lol
