Garmin Astro and DC-30

Post by tman308 »

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that doesn't already, there is a software update for the DC-30 collars and the Astro on the Garmin Website. Check your current version and update if necessary.

Also, Garmin has confirmed that high wattage radios VHF or UHF will burn up the Astros (over time). Handhelds which are only 5 watts will not, mainly your truck radios! Shut your Astro off before transmitting from your radio.

It is my understanding that the radios only affect the "ear" in the Astro that receives the signal from the collar. The collar only transmits,....so it should not affect the collar.
