White's and Nick's are one in the same, White's owns Nick's. Both quality, and made to measure if you have feet out of the ordinary are the way to go...........Sam

I've been wearing Whites for 25 years. Always liked them. The other day I saw a pair of Whites and Nick's side by side. My next pair of boots will be Nick's. Accordindg to the cobbler Whites does not own Nick's.

i have tried whites and nicks and I will never own another pair of whites. working in the woods everyday I have found the nicks to hold up much longer. I own the Nicks hotshots and they were easy to break in and have held up better than any pair of whites I have ever owned. I have been to both shops in spokane and I am almost positive that whites does not own Nicks. Also the guy at Nicks told me that Whites is not hand sewing everything anymore.

Back in my days in the woods I used several of those but I always thought it was hard to beat Hoffmans for the money.http://www.hoffmanboots.com/

Have worked and hunted with several people that wore Nicks but have never owned a pair myself. My understanding is that Nick used to work for White's and the boots are very similar. I have used and abused the White's rough cut caulked logger boots and they are by far the toughest and most comfortable boots I have ever owned. As long as you forget about the first week that you wear them. Mine were custom made to fit my feet and you would expect that to make them easier to break in but I never noticed that it did. They are expensive but I was going through a pair of boots every six months at work until I bought the White's and I got four years out of them before I had to have them rebuilt (and believe they needed it by the time I sent them in to have it done) I figure at 2-3 times the cost of Danner's or Cabela's but eight times the use they are a pretty cheap boot. On the other hand if you only wear them deer and elk hunting Danner's will last you 10-12 years so the Whites may not be worth it to you, but I wear boots at least 360 days a year (although that is counting a lot if days in the winter when I wear pacs) so the Whites are worth the money to me.
