T-shirt Question.. Need your input (spilt)

Post by HardHittin »

Buddyw. -- I spilt this topic from a long thread.. so that people don't need to read the whole part. See my below Post to understand what I'm asking.. sorry if this is confusing.. Hard hittin and david originally replied to a different post, I moved everything here so we can discuss how we want to handle this..

I think #5 #9 #10 should be on a excuse shirt not a saying type shirt.
They are good excuse's tho.
I'd rather to have not ever been known.
Then to be known as A liar!!!

Sorry I haven't been around to be a part of this thing, but it is a great idea, and it is really cool we got someone around that can make good things happen.

I am going to tag team on what Hard Hittin said. As I read through the process, I kept thinking all the sayings for some reason dont really fit together, but I couldnt figure out why as Hard Hittin has done.

I was trying to put myself in the place of someone reading the shirt on someone else, and I had trouble trying to figure out if the shirt was supposed to be funny, or a political statement, or a way of passing on values to our kids and new hunters, etc.

I love Hard Hittin's thought of a t shirt full of excuses. they are funny, they make me laugh, and all houndmen can relate to them, and the shirt would not confuse my emotions. It is too hard for me to go from funny to very serious, to a philosophical statement that is very profound and makes me re-evaluate my whole life.

Seriously, if you changed the word "hound" to the word "dog" (that would make the cur folks happier too) in #1, you could make a t-shirt with only that saying on it and you could sell that thing at any dog event of any breed of canine in any place in the world that could read english and maybe a few that couldn't. Might even be able to quit your day job on that t-shirt.

If you made a t-shirt that just said "dont worry, he's 100% broke" you could sell that thing and make people laugh at every hound event but also every horse or mule event. People love sporting a t-shirt like that.

Just some thoughts

Whatever you come up with, my hats off to all that have been working toward this, and I am all for whatever you decide on.

Can't say I disagree with you guys..

It's a tough call.

.. Unless there is an Uproar from everyone to change it is the favorites that we all voted on.... possibly because !/2 voted serious and 1/2 voted for the funny ones..

Should we split them up to excuses, sayings.. Making two shirts one of more sayings, the other more funny excuses??? Let's hear your vote.. Next week I start to make them and that's when it will matter..

Which would you buy??

we could break it down Like followes very easily??
Serious shirt.
#1 a man ego is a heavy burdon for a hound to carry
#2 Houndsmen are born not made!!
#3 Leave it in the tree if you wish to run another day
#4 Usually the smartest one in the expedition is the dog
#5 see ya at the tree

Funny shirt..
#1 he aint never done that before!
#2 That dog couldn't catch a cold
#3 That'll buff out
#4 Don't worry....he's 100% broke!
#5 He's just a pup

Need everyone to sound off on this before I start making them in the next couple weeks.. would you buy 1, both or keep it one shirt with all 10..

I'll start.. I don't care!! but two shirts serious/Funny makes more sense?

I'd buy both, was wondering if there was gonna be anything on the front of the shirt signifying that the shirt is a representation of a hound hunter or just the sayings on the back?
